HYDRO COOLER
The great technology used to lengthen the storage life of cherries. The hydro cooler is know as the game changer. The video above displays how the hydro cooler process works. As fresh bins of cherries are coming into the packing house, they are then sorted on our belt according to size. The Hydro-cooler then works to reduce the temperature of the cherries while maintaining freshness and flavor. The cherries then travel through the cooled water, a couple of degrees below freezing.
At Panorama our many years of experience allowed us to develop an expert knowledge of how to package produce post-harvest, which is tailored to fit your travelling needs.
The sustainability of the Hydro-cooler is maintained by the water in the tank being recycled throughout the whole process. The water passes over a heat exchanger, cooled to several degrees below freezing by refrigerant. The water is cooled to the set temperature and passes down onto the produce. The sprayed water is collected in a tank at the base of the Hydro-cooler and put through the cycle again.
